Shortly after this, however, portals will being to malfunction.
What no one in the Federation was aware of is that the Vagr were
protecting them all from an even worse threat from outside the
Galaxy. Demon-like beings will begin arriving through
malfunctioning portals, wreaking havoc across known space.
...where you went all Calvin & Hobbes. :)
Yeah, as you say below - you can tell that not near the same amount of thought has gone into that as into the rest of the story.
Don't get me wrong, I realize that after the happy ending you need a
new antagonist to keep people glued to their sets next season, but
after all the careful attention to detail you've paid to setting up an
interesting setting (galactic intrigue AND zombies? Sign me up), a
Demonic Invasion(tm) seems sort of thrown together. Granted, this is
way in the future and probably isn't detailed yet, but it sort of stuck
out to me.
I've basically been developing the first 3rd of the outline for about 2 months, the second 3rd for a month and the last bit that you and I are both tripping over this week.
So, I guess it really depends on what sort of "havoc" these demons
shall commence to wreak. Are they basic, bat-winged Balrog clones out
to kick puppies, spraypaint "666" on the sides of defenseless spice
freighters, and make necklaces of all sentient races? Are they succubi
fanning out across the galaxy to repopulate all habitable worlds with
fiendish childer? Are they evangelistic nethercultists out to draw the
foolish into the service of their implacable, greasy-tentacled
god-thing? Are they cosmic bikers with a fondness for phrases like
"Feetal's Gizz" and "Frag on toast?"
It's based off the Doom d20 game and to be honest, not only do I have no idea what their motivation is, I have no idea right now how they'll get beat, what will happen after that, the larger effects on the rest of the galaxy, etc.
Anyway, I think the demons may need work. The rest is gold. Kudos.
Thanks ^^ The opinions help :) I can't share it with any of my other usual sounding boards as they're all playing... :/
