Depends on your interpretation of the rule -- whether it's the "damage" or the "drop" that's the key element.
My interpretation of the rule is consistent with *all* of the language in the feat's description. Yours is not.
I'll leave it at that.
Mine is consistent with the reason WHY you are able to take that other shot on another target, which to me is far more to the point than the feat description in this case. But for me the rules are guidelines to serve MY purposes, not something to direct my actions.
