I finally got around to installing Firefox last night. (So many

those saved games. :-) Do you think I could get just a wee bit slower
at getting this computer back together?)

Anyhow... so just tried to use it and only went to one particular
site. I was trying to log in, and my password has some caps in it. I
got this warning message that I had my caps lock on. No, I didn't. I
was holding the Shift key to enter my letter. I did try hitting the
caps lock two times just to see what happened. Obviously it's not on
or this wouldn't look like this.

Here's the important thing. I did occur to me that there was
something about the site, but it never did this when I was using IE.
But I thought perhaps the password isn't case sensitive and just tried
it that way, and that didn't work. So I immediately opened IE and
tried it there again and it's working fine.

I don't get it. Could there be something with Firefox causing this?
I'll ask on the forums on the site if they know of a conflict between
FF and their site, although it's obvious by looking at their computer
and internet questions that plenty of people are using Firefox. But I
thought I'd ask here first.

Oh... duh. I should've already tried this. Just went to an email
account that also has caps and it's working fine there. But the other
site worked fine with IE. So it's the combination somehow. Still got
any ideas what it might be doing?

I think it's a badly designed site and it's just telling you that you
might have caps on because it doesn't know what else to suggest.

Do you have adblock or noscript installed in Firefox? Maybe one of those
is preventing the site from working.

If those aren't default, then no. And that doesn't sound like anything
I would have on.

Of course, it's hard to diagnose a problem with a website if you don't
tell us what the site is.

It's askmehelpdesk.com.

I went ahead and asked there, and one guy said he discovered that some
other people have had this same problem, and not with just this site,
so he thinks it's a quirk in Firefox itself. (I'll go to their forums
and ask.) I've never seen this before though. Rather than being a
"quirk" with Firefox, it might just be these sites just aren't made
right to work with it. OTOH, another guy answered who uses Firefox,
and has caps, and he's never had a problem.
