Yes, that is quite useful.

It always amazes me what people are clicking without thinking at all.

IE is quite susceptible to silent "drive-by" installs from malicious
banner ads and similar attacks. And don't forget worms. I wonder if they
have SP2 and have the firewall enabled properly?

They did have SP2.The Windows firewall was enabled (default settings -
I know mostly useless) but there was no other firewall. But I went to
Windows Update and failed WGA. This is a Dell Optiplex desktop with
the OEM LK on the top. So I run their tool which tells me it's a
blocked VLK that has no similarity to the key on the top. Fortunately
I was able to change their LK and get going. Surprisingly few items to
update though, only around 30.
