From curiosity, is there a way to add a new set of shortcuts to the XPstart menu, similar to the My Documents one? It's easy enough to stick the
shortcuts into the All Programs lists, which is what I've done for some of
my frequently accessed PDF files, but can it be added to the initial Start
Menu itself instead?
For Win2k: Just drag the files in your "documents and
settings\user\start menu" directory. Should work the same with xp, if
I am not mistaken.
What I do is drag items to the actual Start button, then later I go to the
actual menu folders to mess, er, fix them up.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\Polychromic\Start Menu\
If you drag the Control Panel from Explorer to the Start Menu, it will
create the nice expanding folder structure that one needed to do a
registry trick to make back under W95.
That's one thing I like about Vista. You can easily have your Control
Panel on the Desktop and ...gasp.... they finally gave Device Manager
it's own shortcut and not hidden away in System.
