The Way We Live Now

Hi, :-)

Anybody watched (or more studiously, read the novel) David Suchet's BBC
drama of that name? The history repeats itself isn't it. Though the story
took place around 1870's England, but the practice sounds just like dot.com
era. During that crazy period people sell nothing for top dollars,
effectively transfering the wealth to the greedy few (and those who know
how things work). And bring with it a collash of the new rich with the old
rich. People marry for wealth. Old riches (gentry nobilities), despite
"cannot afford" not to deal business with the "new economy" Suchet's
character brought to them, but continue to brew hatred toward the way he
lived then discreetly.

BTW, we are about to have another home loan crisis here in the U.S.. We
shall see another wave of greed. Though words of precaution, circustances
have been different, so no sure money this time, since we are at war and
the country may not able to bail out those irresponsible banks this time to
drive the treasury bills astronomically. Short term gain is okay, just
don't bet your entire retirement fund in it. If you have a pile of money
sitting around (*looks toward a particular dragon*) consider wait until
tons of people declare bankruptcy, and grab foreclosed real estates for
rental properties (homes won't appreciate, rentals will). Also consider
exit strategy of your current investment (I would suggest selling loser
stocks now, but depend on your situation, it may not be the best strategy).

Sadly, that's "the way we live now".... Things never change for a hundred
and a few decades.... $$$ is stil the king (though not the guarantee to
happiness), and moral deteriorating continues to guide the future.

Hope this information will be helpful to get my fellow dragon friends
prepared. Remember Warren Buffet said, "Be greedy when everyone is
fearful, and be fearful when everyone is greedy". Now I have to find a way
to raise funds and see if I can to take advantage of this abnormal
circumstance I spoke of. It's been an awful year for me so far....
