Changing CPU

I'm changing the CPU on my HP dc7700 pc. I'm replacing the E6300 with a E6600.
I was told that I might have to upgrade the BIOS, so I'm going to do that. The newest BIOS (ver 1.10) also contains an update of the CPU microcode: Se the excerpt from HP below.
DESCRIPTION
Systems ... may exhibit any of the following symptoms as a consequence of improper Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB) invalidation:
Systems may stop responding to keyboard or mouse input.
Systems operating in Microsoft Windows environments may hang, displaying a blue screen error message.
Systems operating in Linux environments may hang, displaying a Kernel panic message.
Incorrect data.
This issue was identified in a test environment during rigorous quality control testing. To date, HP has not observed this issue in a production environment but the possibility cannot be ruled out entirely.
Intel has provided HP with updated processor microcode that addresses the improper TLB invalidation issue. HP strongly recommends applying the microcode update as early as possible.

Now to my question: If I first install the E6600 and then upgrade the BIOS, the CPU code will also be changed. If I for some reason decide to go back to the E6300, then the BIOS remains upgraded, but not the microcode of the E6300. Is there a risk that the system won't boot bcause of this? The same question applies if I upgrade the BIOS first, then change the CPU - in that case the E6600 may contain the old microcode.
Maybe I've misunderstood everything here.
