Well, as opposed to the second rate ones? Yeah. :)

There is nothing wrong with the second best, if you wallet is $200 richer.

I guess, I will have to test the new monitors...
Mon has one,but see libes in TN. I had only a day or two with it...19
inch...

I know there is a need for the extra width with vista's side panels...

But, Iam using High power reading Glasses which are over plus 17,

YOW!! I hope your optician gave you Silor Super Modular Aspheric
lenses, or at least Welsh Four-Drops.Anything but lenticulars!

and
Large dark arial fonts even to read... I have loss about half by
coloe detection.
Last test with letters or whatever inbedded in dotted ....""First, you
are shown sample patterns and told what symbols and numbers you can
expect to see. You then sit at a table and cover one eye. The health
professional holds the color test patterns about 14 in. away from you.
Some patterns are more difficult to pick out than others. As the
health professional holds up a pattern, you will identify the number
or symbol you see and trace it using a pointer. Some patterns may not
have a number or symbol. The test is then repeated with the other
eye."" I only get about half of them now. I have sufferred eye damage
fromc horoidial effussions and retina detachment..

My mother in law had a retinal detachment for over a year before she
mentioned it to me. Now she has a scleral buckle and donut vision in
that eye.

Yes, I have lost a lot of perception. ""Color vision tests may be
done:

As part of a routine eye examination.
To screen for or diagnose color blindness.
To screen applicants for jobs in which color perception is important,
such as truck driving, electronics, or the military. ""

Anyway, I have to be about 18 to 24 inches away from screen to
see...sometimes I get within a foot.

That's not too bad for +17. Do they have you in bifocals?

This is why I like the old games...

""Color vision tests may be done:

Royal Blue is much easier for me to see than Blue Slate...I can't
stand these web sites that start using Pascal colors...It's
horrible...

If they had my eyes they wouldn't think it was so great to use those
colors...Yap, yahoo has done it on their message boards...I do better
with the basic colors...These blended types ?

A friend of mine bought me an updated railroad game.
I couldn't play it because of the new graphics and that was some years
back...I can see the old railroad tycoon...but it's trains and cars
are a little small for me now...

Befoe I got these glases in January...I was trying to see with an hand
held magifying glass while cornea transplant was healing. and before
the new cornea I used an magnifying glass with my glasses to see an
puter screen...And the LCD's I needed so much mag. power that I could
see the whatch a ma call it's and still didn't make out the letter or
number...Trust me the CRT is BETTER!

I'm assuming you have the font size set high, as well as a fairly low
screen resolution. I would still think that the LCDs smaller dot size
would have been superior, but I guess it might not scale down all that
well.
After your transplant, do you have a lot of astigmatism?
Has your doctor discussed a capsule exchange to reduce your high plus?

Gee- this August I will have 35 years in the optical industry.

charles

P.S. In May I was able to see moms screen...But I still think my CRT
is better,,,even for posting here.
