That's my doubt. I am not sure when it has occured. I know it's just
detected. It may have lasted several minutes, or it may have lasted for
days. Either way, if they want to do something, they've already
accomplished the job. It may not be malicious or criminal acts (those
would be legal binding), but it's creating terror to users.

Infecting someone's PC is illegal itself. You think they care?

Probably not....

There is no symptom I am aware of. I only found it out because my AV said
I am infected, and I must restart my computer to finish the fix it did.

What AV do you use, and what is the name it gave to the virus?

I don't remember the name of the backdoor trojan.... I just followed the
instruction as quickly as possible by rebooting it. Let me check the log.
It's called Backdoor.Haxdoor.... Very creative name....

I can tell you the program I use if you want through email, but not in a
public forum.

You're afraid of people knowing you use Norton? Well, you might be afraid
of getting laughed at, I guess.

Norton is the only one using that name. After your AV identifies a threat
you should go to their website to see what it does. That way you will
have some idea of what has happened.

Since it's a 3 year old virus, I'd say it was only on your system
momentarily and your AV detected it right away. (Unless you're using NAV
2003 and have never updated the definitions). You can check your system
for the files indicated on the Technical details page to be thorough.

Looks like this one either came as part of a software package (did you
install something just prior to finding it?) or as a email attachment.
