I really hate my job and unfortunately am stuck with it. I knew the
consequence, but there was no choice.
But you are doing something about it!?
Yeah, but I am stuck now without a car.... ;-) Okay, that's the last dark
humour today.
Did you take it to the shop yet? How long will it take? You really
should have taken pictures of the damage for insurance purposes. And so
you could post them for us to see.
Yes, the car was towed yesterday to a bodyshop. Don't know how long would
it take since insurance company has to do all the stuff before it'll be
fixed. Picture..., don't know if that'll be available for you guys, but
mall security did take them.
Anyhow, you're handy with a soldering iron and screwdriver, aren't you?
Can't you just order the needed replacement parts and fix it yourself?
Do you really think I am mechanically endowed??? :-D
Well, my brother told me to get some accountant to do my tax. Maybe I'll
do that. It'll give me more time to sort out the mess.
You should say to him, "Pshaw, I *am* an accountant". Be sure to use
"pshaw".
Pshaw, I am NOT an accountant. I am a financiER, and be sure to pronounce
the word like a real French. And taxation is a totally seperate major, and
I don't mean taxidermy.
As for the school, I think I'll quit the job to get an accounting/MIS
double major. Maybe that'll be a little more practical. Hope everything
goes well.
Maybe wait on quitting until school is ready to begin?
I am about to get a schedule with WaMu already. No, I won't wait for it.
I'd rather be gardening than working over there.
My brother told me to quit because he thought the cost was way too much to
stay in an awful working condition. My parents' reaction has been very
weird. My dad's reaction was all about how much the car's repair would
cost,
That seems like he was just being practical.
But what about ME! How insensitive. Even the tow trucker was more
sensible than my dad, though he didn't keep a safe distance when he talked
to me.
and my mom's reaction was how should I keep the job..., and yelled at
me for stood up for my coworkers. None thought about how much distress I
was under for both events.
Well, if you didn't speak up, would you have been under less stress?
That's probably what she's thinking.
My mom isn't that thoughtful. Besides, the Rome wasn't built in one day.
I've not been happy with the company's ill-treatment for employees for
around an year now. I did tell the manager that she was a victim too,
since I noticed she was under a lot of pressure from her superior.
Obviously she was just passing around the temper onto her subordinate, but
since I want to stop "pass the pressure on innocent people" game at my
point, so I played the reverse card.
Anyways, I feel I rebound quite well actually, thanks to you guys. Only if
my managers are that supportive. I think maybe us dragons should start a
company together, and perhaps that'll be a better place to work. Maybe the
company's code of ethics should be the eight virtues. :-D
Blackthorne's 8 virtues are more likely.
1. You will upsell extended warranties or you will be upset when you're
fired. Also we will dock your pay by the amount of any lost warranty
sales at the manager's discretion.
2. You will strictly follow the company dress code or you will be unable
to dress because you're fired. Also we will beat you so you will be too
sore to dress. And remember not to sweat. No visible piercings or
tattoos. No facial hair.
3. You will make eye contact with all customers and greet them with the
company greeting message. You will then assume all customers are actually
there to steal and will follow each one around the store constantly
offering to help them. Failure to do so will result in your pay being
docked by whatever percentage of shrinkage the store has during that pay
period. Also, you will be fired.
etc.
4. You are offered an ethical hotline to report any wrongful conduct. The
company reserves the right to fire anyone who called that number, and may
be recorded as (but not exclusive to) "internal thief" in the person's
profile so future employers would be forewarned. In addition, one must be
a current employee to report wrongful termination.
5. You are offered a company locker but the company reserves the right to
take out everything inside that's left overnight. You can claim them in
the office or they would be donated. You may use the written warning
issued as the claiming ticket.
6. You are encouraged to peer-coaching the associates, but management
reserves the right to call it a chit-chat on the sales floor.
7. Managers may humiliate their associates in public for the purpose of
increasing sales. If an employee offer any suggestion that's not part of
the policy, s/he must be called into the office as the company discourages
escalated behavior.
