Well, how complicated is Kerio? I've heard the same thing about ZoneAlarm, being complicated to configure, but once it's running, it runs smooth. How often does Kerio update the program and intrusion detection signatures?
Well, ZoneAlarm is like the AOLified version of a firewall, while Kerio is more for adults with IQs over 70. ;P
It can be complicated to figure out. The basic trick is to set a default
rule of disallowing everything as your last rule (they are executed in
order) and then add exceptions as you need them.
Also, if you wish, you can run Kerio and the Windows Firewall at the same time. Some people can't keep their rulesets straight and end up confused, the poor things, when trying to do this however.
There are no updates. Kerio 2.15 is finished and there won't be updates, but you should be able to use it at least until you start using either a 64 bit version of Windows or Vista.
I wrote a long post with notes on installing Kerio a few months ago. If you want to try it, I'll go look it up.
Howcome you did not also put it on your website with its own link and stuff?
