I do believe this thread reflects poorly, once again, on the character
of Messrs. Sloan and Lafferty.
I believe that your post reflects poorly on your ability to discern
moral and legal distinctions. :-)
Unsurprising for someone who played Sam Sloan a chess match for a
money stake.
I was playing for charity, and I have already admitted my error in
judgment, in lame Seussian pentameter:

That's a skeleton in my closet. (Not losing--I've always been a
tactical weakie--but playing in the first place.) I cannot undo the
past, can I?
No, you cannot. But you can change your life. I lost 140 pounds and,
for a while at least, dropped rgcp. And speaking of which, I've wasted
too much time here today, and really need to get on my bike, lest
those pounds find me again.
You could also become an atheist: we're the folks who take Jesus
seriously.
Cheap shot, sorry. Have a good ride.
Not at all. Part of atheism is having to take cheap shots at any and
all religious belief.
I'm working on my faults. I thought the Dawkins book (e.g.) was
rather stupidly antagonistic. I do think the tendency to want to
believe is a very human thing & help advanced culture... I enjoyed
Thomas Sheehan's lectures on the historical Jesus available at
Stanford / iTunes. (Sheehan & I used to work in the same building,
but I didn't know him then...my in-laws do.)

I have not tried the above link: my access was via iTunes Univ (a
freebie).
My wife calls me the religious atheist. Remember the parable of
Lazarus and the rich man? If I am at some future point burning in
Gehenna, I'll wave to my friends upstairs & be happy for them. ;-)
IOW, I don't believe in a personal deity, but have no problems with
those who do.
P.S. Sheehan is better seen as a conduit to the better scholars he
relies upon--but it's a nice intro.
