I agree with most of your statements with some notable exceptions
that harm your claim to neutrality:
1. The posts were not "understandable". Behaving the way
Truong did would never occur to the vast majority of people.
2. There is really no evidence either way concerning Polgar's
involvement.
3. While you are correct to note that Truong/Polgar's defense
has been "meandering", more importantly it has also been
malicious and deceitful.

I'll show my hand -- ie, my opinion:
- I am biased in that I have no respect for Mr. Sloan, and actively
dislike Mr. "Gordon". I have always enjoyed Susan Polgar's work, and
have exchanged polite emails with her.
- Mr "Gordon" has threatened me in the past with legal action as a
response to posting my beliefs and opinions, clearly identified as
such. I therefore choose to spare my family the cost and trouble of
any potential unmerited lawsuits and elect to remain anonymous.
- "Rufus Zee" as real an entity as "Ray Gordon" i.e. a nom-de-plume.
- As a legal action, Sloan's lawsuit is an exercise in futility. It is
poorly constructed and proof of damages would border upon impossible.
- Given his history in the courts, I believe any potential suit from
Gordon Roy Parker (aka "Ray Gordon") would suffer equally. Also, it is
hard to draw a line to show how the USCF is responsible for postings
made to the USCF by a then-private individual or individuals.
- The impact of the lawsuit is incidental and outside the courts- the
uncovering of the animosity and hypocrisy within the USCF board.
- Troung was responsible for at least some fake Sloan and/or "Ray
Gordon" posts.
- The posts were an understandable, yet inappropriate, response from a
lover/husband given the nature previous 'real' Sloan and "Ray Gordon"
posts.
- Troung has a questionable history with honesty, as do both Sloan and
"Ray Gordon".
- "Ray Gordon" will bluster for months, and in the end do nothing of
substance.
- Susan Polgar was initially, and may remain, ignorant of Paul
Troung's online activities. This is a case of the heart doing the
thinking the brain should handle.
- The Troung position/defence has become as meandering and confused as
the initial Sloan lawsuit.
- In the end, Polgar and Troung will leave the USCF. Susan will
eventually learn the "truth". However the damage to her reputation
will have been done, and she will have no one to blame but herself.
- The majority of USCF membership will have heard very little about
the mess, and care even less. Business -- so to speak -- will continue
as normal until the next pot-stirrer tries to vent personal gripes
through the court system.
Let me restate -- the above is my opinion, nothing more, nothing
less.
What do you think? Will anyone answer other than the same old chorus
of single-minded, single-sided folks?
