Sam Sloan's current mantra is that everyone is 'attacking him 10 times per
day'. Let's say he is confused about who all these people are, and also that
they are questioning his behavior, not him, as such.

The reference above is to 'slimy campaigning', not slimey Sloan.

Given that embattled Sam Sloan finds 3 new scandals a day, that means in any
year he raises about 1,000 of them, and surely anyone would get confused
with so much hyper-slime, maggots, rats and titmouses [titmice?] out there.

Man needs a secretarial staff to keep his slime straight.
