MORE HAPPY TALK
>The budget is balanced, we are going to have another year of surplus. We have hired a promising young executive director, and membership numbers are better now than a year ago. I hope for as much from the in-coming Board.> Randy Bauer
How refreshing were we now to learn the role played by the new director
in the Natrol decision -- not to fire the guy but simply to have full
disclosure. I, for one, am prepared to call the matter closed once
there is such disclosure. It would signal a change for the better.
How refreshing were we now to learn the fate of the $5,000 paid by
Natrol and whether Beatriz got any compensation for her endorsement of
this product.
SECRET TALKS TO RETURN LAND
As I reported many weeks ago, there were discussions about
getting rid of the land. At first this was pooh-poohed by the likes of
Randy Bauer. Then the denials stopped and my reports were met with
blank silence by a secretive board.
>There are plenty of vacant buildings in downtown Crossville that appear to be suitable for office space. The recent growth in Crossville appears to be in the area of the vacant land. Even considering the $40,000 architects bill, your idea to trade the land for an existing building might be worth considering. Any review of the alternatives should be done rather quickly due to the time lines already in place.> ex-CFO Grant Perks
