  I seriously wonder if any effort was made
to determine such things, objectively.  From
many of the postings by the real Sam Sloan,
it was apparent that he strongly disliked, and
perhaps was even jealous of, Paul Truong.

  Since everything I have read placed these
two (PT and SP) together all the time, it
seemed a bit odd that PT was being singled
out, and Susan Polgar just given a free ride.
The one thing that seems to pertain to PT
specifically, is the comments which specify
that postings came from "his" computer; I
can only assume that SP either doesn't own
a computer, or else that she has her own.

There are several reasons to believe this is Paul and not Susan.

1) The posts match up to some posts which were by Paul, not by Susan

2) The PhD claim, which showed both a tendency to dishonesty and a
tendency to respond with ridiculous excuses and attacks

3) The Bob Bennett posts, which showed some similarities in posting
patterns, were Paul and not Susan.

There are other reasons which reinforce the idea, but are perhaps less
solid. It is Paul who seems to be the one who spends time on the
internet; I understand that he would answer mail to Susan but not the
reverse. Paul is (I do not know the people, but it is consistently
said by supporters as well as detractors) the half of the couple who
tends to be very aggressive, which can be both a good and a bad trait
in context. You have complained about the Polgar website. Rumors of
Truong greatly exaggerating comments go much further back, eg the many
national titles; I had never heard of Susan exaggerating her
accomplishments before they became a couple.

Technically, there is no reason it couldn't be Susan as well. To me,
it seems clear that the odds are overwhelming that Paul is responsible
for the bad behavior. I think most people have been accusing Paul
rather than Susan because the odds seem overwhelming to them as well,
not out of jealousy for Paul.

  Some people have argued that (presumably)
PT was reacting to "attacks" on SP, that it
was only normal for him to try to protect his
wife by lashing out at the attackers, and so
forth.  This smacks of the old two-wrongs-
makes-a-right math error we often see crop
up when other possible defenses have failed.
And its frequent appearance seems to point
in the direction of PT, because they do not
suggest that SP was "defending" PT, but the
other way around.

  I find it strange that anyone would make
such postings as those by the FSS from a
computer which could easily be traced back
to them.  Clearly, this was done by someone
who could not see even two moves ahead.
