Interesting progressive game

In progressive chess white has 1 move, black has 2, white 3, black 4,
and so on. A sequence finishes if you give check, and a person's first
move must get them out of check, lest it be mate.
In the following real game:
1. d4
2. c5, cxd4
3. Qxd4, Qb6, Qxd8+
4. Kxd8, g6, Bh6, Bxc1
5. Kd1, Kxc1, c4, c5, Nc3
6. Na6, Nxc5, b5, b4, bxc3, cxb2+
7. Kxb2, Rc1, Rxc5, Rh5, Rxh7, Rxh8, Rxg8+
8. Kc7, Bb7, Bxg2, Bxh1, Rxg8, Rh8, Rxh2, Rxf2
9. Kc3, e4, e5, e6, exf7, f8=Q, Qxf2, Qe1, Ba6
1. Black looks finished after white's 9th move, with his king cut off
from the knight on g1, and all his pawns blockaded. What did black
play to force white's resignation?
2. Which move of white's 9th could he have changed to prevent black's
winning 10th?
3. Is the game pure (i.e. did either player miss a mating sequence at
any stage)?
Ciao,
Chappy.
