<paraphrasing what I 'claimed', snipped>

Did an impostor hijack your
identity? If not, it's clear that you're saying no chess writer could
have made this historical error. Yet it's pretty clear that until a day
or two ago you didn't know Duras-Teichmann from Dempsey-Tunney.

Its 'pretty' clear? :))

Are you sure you're not sure?

Taylor Kingston now makes another claim for me! 'saying no chess writer...'.
Let us suppose he is doing this claiming business because I did not write it
myself, otherwise he could have quoted me.

It is not a matter of 'no chess writer', but of poor research that creates
the error. And if the comment was not about the game, then it was on the
game's history, no?

you continue to
skip the main issue with diversion not addressing anything below what is
written here. You are saying in effect that your excuse is that everyone
is
as dumb as you were.

No, Phil, I'm saying that by the very standard *_you_* yourself have
set, *_you_* are dumb.

There you go, folks! Kingston didn't read his history, didn't even know it
was a famous game! didn't even know Soltis made an error, and he also is
'pretty sure' I didn't as well, therefore I am dumb. What basis Kingston has
for calling other people names seems as 'pretty sure' as his comments here.

Kingston's point is the last bastion of defence: although he wrote another
under-researched review, he speculates that other people are equally dumb,
and so it doesn't matter.
