I clearly stated that my response was based on what you had told us in
your original post. That I, and one other poster, had misunderstood

I don't kill-file people, because it's more annoying seeing the

OK, I promise to never involve myself in yet another Stig-Sun thread,
but what is it about Gordon Rainsford that he garners so much overt
hostility?

I mean, I understand hostility to some people. But Gordon has been
slammed by at least four people that I can recall, *and I've never
seen him escalate his tone past about this, which is way below flame.*

Why is Gordon a target? It's utterly mystifying to me. He's sensible
and reasonable. Is it his hosting of
rec.sport.puppymurdering.moderated? Are people mad because he won the
baby-eating contest on ESPN-6? Is there something else I don't know
about?

--JRM, and apart from the unanwerable question, I have the tiny
suggestion to those, unlike Gordon, who don't contain their tone: The
person that stops flaming first looks better.

Stig has issues with anyone who has issues with him. Regardless of my
failed attempt at continuing to stay above the fray, I will confess my
own indignation at Stig calling Gordon and Duck "ignorant allies" of
"the evil Sun duo" and expressed it, the same indignation I felt when
someone accused David Goldfarb of being unethical when he played
Unassuming Club with a new partner for the first time and experienced
a system forget. (There's been no apology for that either.) That of
course raised Stig's ire even further and he attempted to pass off his
own name calling by claiming that they were wrong, hence worthy of
being insulted, and obviously I fueled the fire by my own expressed
indignation.

Steven and I and Will and Dranon deserve the flames we get. Our
disagreements with Stig have moved from bridge to the personal (and
that movement has been in both directions), but Stig appears to be so
caught up with the four of us that anyone who takes issue with him now
gets lumped in with us as well.

But Gordon and Rubberduck?

Not a chance, and still not a shred of decency from Stig about his
utterly uncalled for insult of them.

I bet all who read threads here know that Stig is obsessed with two
subjects: what constitutes an opening hand, and discrediting Audrey Grant.
And that he is not here to learn or to ask for opinions. Just because more
people are not on his blacklist or don't contribute to his threads (which is
almost equivalent to getting on his blacklist), does not mean that the
silent ones agree with him. They just ignore him, why bother.
