Ì bid 2H. Where did I get my "real" partner? My online partner is also a

any partner I want to keep, yet bidding 2H seems to be universal...
As others have gathered, in BBO-standard (this system is usually
referred to as "SAYC", rightly or wrongly), responses to takeout doubles
promise 5 cards and at least 8 points. You'll get used to it.
Now, so, we've established that the right bid in real bridge is 2H, but
in SAYC, it is clearly pass. However, let's assume you bid 2H. Next
hand (the original 1S bidder) now bids 2N and this is passed back to
you. Your call now?
Either pass or double (for penalties). I'd have to know a bit more
about the players involved, how solid their bids are and how well they
play/defend to get a feel for whether +300 is likely. If this is the
first board on which I'd ever seen any of my three opponents... pass.
