As others have gathered, in BBO-standard (this system is usually
referred to as "SAYC", rightly or wrongly), responses to takeout doubles
promise 5 cards and at least 8 points. You'll get used to it.

Now, so, we've established that the right bid in real bridge is 2H, but
in SAYC, it is clearly pass. However, let's assume you bid 2H. Next
hand (the original 1S bidder) now bids 2N and this is passed back to
you. Your call now?

Please don't use the term BBO Standard. There actually is such a system
existing on BBO, including a BBO Standard convention card. This system - of
course - defines no such thing as *5-card suit needed when responding to a
TOX*. I assume you are talking about the methods that in reality are
applied by idiots, intermediates, beginners, and/or inexperienced players on
BBO. Maybe it could be referred to as the "so-called BBO standard" or
something....

If the level of general bridge knowledge at the tables you play is as low as
you say, it is futile to discuss further.
