Was it JCH Marx who invented "Stayman"?
Eric Crowhurst invented lots of conventions that now bear other names.
For example...
[A] Checkback eg 1D-1S-; 1N -2C as an artificial shape/range enquiry.
[B] Modified Cappalletti Landy or Pottage ie after opponent's (1N) ?,
2C=Majors, 2D=Any single suiter, 2H/S= that major + a minor.
[C] After unusual notrump eg 1H (2N) ? 3C=Spades (other major),
3D=Hearts (partner's major), 3H/S = natural non-forcing.
