Now that is very funny. By the way, I do not believe that Eric is a bad
player or a bad person. I was a lighting rod for trying to make change
in the ACBL. I think I had the best interests of the game at heart. I
love the game of bridge and I miss it more than anyone but myself and a
few close friends will ever know. I do not miss the hierarchy or the
people who line their own pockets at the cost of the membership. Eric
and I have this thing about his rhetoric. He thinks I cannot make a
good reasoned argument. I think that his longwinded defenses of his
positions accomplish very little and they certainly do nothing to
convince me and many others that he is right. I agree with him much
more often than I disagree with him. But when I see him being very
pompous as he was in the post that started all of this when he called
to task by David, I just could not resist tweaking his nose a little
bit. All I said as a comment to David's post was that Eric didn't like
for people to disagree with him. Other than that, I agreed with David.
David's comment was about Eric telling someone that bidding 7NT being
was likely as likely to be as successful as bidding 3 notrump.
I never defend my play to Eric or anyone else, I don't have to do that.
The record of scores of regional wins playing with dubious clients
should take care of that. He is right, I certainly have enemies in the
bridge world and I am PROUD to have every one of them. I also have
friends and I am proud to have every one of them too.
Eric feel free to have the last word on this, I have had about all of
the fun with you that I can stand. I am sorry to everyone else, I only
meant to add a little levity and try to get Eric to quit taking himself
so seriously. I don't take him seriously and I certainly don't take
myself seriously.
Cheers,
JB
