Opener's pass of 3NT is a GROSS underbid.
He has 19 hcp, his partner has announced a better than a limit raise,
his side has a double fit in diamonds and spades, plus opener has
ruffing power in clubs assuming he plays as if partner was declarer.
Opener can contribute five high honors as cover cards and two club
ruffs for seven tricks opposite partner's hand. Furthermore, opener has
the spade jack and the club queen to work with. Given that a limit
raise hand has about a losing trick count of eight opener should see
that 6D is very much on the horizon. I think with a hand this strong
you should just presume that you are going to bid 6D unless you are
able to prove either that 6D is a bad contract like off two aces or you
are missing and ace and the queen of trumps etc. or 7D is a better
contract as you can count 13 tricks. On the actual hand, if you
exchange responders C KJ to C A, passing 3NT would have resulted in
missing a good 7D contract.
