Please read Law 45D (Card Misplayed by Dummy) carefully:

"If dummy places in the played position a card that declarer did not name,
the
card must be withdrawn if attention is drawn to it before each side has
played
to the next trick, and a defender may withdraw (without penalty) a card
played
after the error but before attention was drawn to it; if declarer's RHO
changes
his play, declarer may withdraw a card he had subsequently played to that
trick
(see Law 16C2)."

It does not matter what card Declarer named if Dummy placed a different card
in the played position and attention to this irregularity was not drawn
within the
time limit specified in L45D.

In that case the card actually placed in the played position by Dummy
becomes
THE played card.

It's interesting to note that this law only tells us what to do if attention is drawn to the irregularity in time - it doesn't say what happens when it is not. So, while I'm sure your last sentence is established practice, it's not explicitly stated in the relevant law.

It is known that this is yet another bad Law, but the interpretation that Sven has given is not only universally accepted: nothing else makes any sense once you have read the Law.
