It doesn't impress me. Although my bid doesn't promise an ace, I think
partner has a right to play me for one.

Maybe, but that isn't going to help if the opponents cash two tricks in
the rounded suits first. Plus, if he has something in spades, why is
he bypassing 4S?

Maybe, but that isn't going to help if the opponents cash two tricks in
the rounded suits first. Anyway, given that partner obviously has a
big boatload of diamonds, the fact that you have two-card support isn't
going to make a big difference in your trick taking ability.
