I wondered why there weren't any more replies when I logged back on.
Charles, you made it seem too easy! :-) The analysis is eminently
correct.

That may or may not be the best shot, since you know, after the first
FOUR tricks, the opponents exact distribuions in Hearts and Clubs
but not sure how Diamonds and Spades are split.

This is the more interesting case, because after the first 4 trikcs,
these are known about the REMAINING four hands:

K52
76
-
J106
unknown 3+probable Qxx (*)
- AQ8532
length in D probable void after play of A10
K97 (K9753) void afterplay of singleton 8
AJ106
KJ109
K
-
with Declarer having lost the Ace of diamonds at trick one, and
won the Diamond Q and AQ of Clubs in hand.

(*) If RHO did not have the spade Q, he would have bid and rebid
his hearts with 10 HCPs, VUL.

I agree that's a good line to guarantee the contract against the
probable holding by E/W (keeping W off while winning 3 spades and
two hearts), but is there a line that holds a chance to make FOUR?

I'll withhold the actual holdings of the 4 hands and the actual
surprising results one last time. :)
