Having read comments giving all possible reasons why YOUR bids
were bad, and why your PARDs bids were right; and why YOUR
bids are correct, and your pards bids weren't, I can only
answer your question in the subject line:

EVERYONE in this thread is out of their mind. :-)

It simply shows that there is no unambiguously CORRECT or
unambiguously INCORRECT answer in ANY bidding sequence in
which bidding judgment is involved, to decide on who is
"out of his or her mind".

Playing IMP, surely 5D is a safer contract, from your PARTNER's
point of view, looking at

AKx, 10x, KQJ98xxx, void

than pssing your 4H.

For those critical of you NOT cue-bidding 5D, the presumption
is that 6D would be a good shot knowing you have the diamond
Ace.

But would bidding 4D guarantee the Diamond Ace?

What if you nad a diamond VOID, and your pard's bid DID
imply heart fit? Could your pard's hand NOT be possible to
be the same 13-schmointer which would make 6H a good shot
whether you had the Ace OR void in diamonds?

AKQ J10xx K10xxx void

Now what, if you cue-bid 4D and PARD's had was what he had

AKx, 10x, KQJ98xxx, void

and your hand was

xxx, KQxxx, void, AQ98x or
Qxxx, KQxxx, void, Axxx or

many similar hands in which Blackwood or not, you
go down playing a slam in any denomination.

Since there is NO absolutely "correct" bid by you
or your PARD, I vote "everyone is out of his/her
mind, including myself" for engaging in this thread. :-)
