The first sea zone counts as 1. Unless you are playing A&A Pacific and then
an island with the CAP symbol is considered to be part of the sea zone with
regard to planes.

Battleships do shore bombardment on a 3 or less and Destroyers on a 2 or
less. This is deliberate;y worse than the shipd normal attack and defence
values. Note again, for A&A Pacific Japanese destroyers can transport one
infantry but if they do they cannot carry out shore bombardment on the turn
the infantry unit disembarks. Also, each ship rolls for bombardment.

AA guns only fire at aircraft that are in the same territory as the AA guns.
