I've never tried it, but I'm sure it does work.
However, you may have to wait quite a bit longer yet.
Remember that each extra ply you add to the analysis multiplies the
time taken by around 21. I just tried a test position on 3-ply, where
the alternatives were sufficiently close that the top 4 moves went to
3 ply. Took about 20 seconds. At 7-ply, therefore, this would take
around 45 days to complete!
