Thanks for answering.
my pleasure.

I have other queries relating specifically to
BGBlitz.
I was going to email you (I have a registered version) but as you answer
here
It's safer to mail me or send a CC, because I might overlook a posting
here.

maybe your reply will be of interest to others in the same position.

With vista x64 there are both 32bit and 64bit Internet Explorers.
And likewise 64bit and 32bit versions of Java JRE 6.
I believe that Sun java 64bit does not support the browser plugin but 32bit
does.
Thats fair enough.

But....does BGBltz care which version you are using?
Can it use either?
It's related to the starter. BGBlitz itself is agnostic of 32 or 64
bit, but the starter (the bgblitz.exe) chooses 32-Bit. I havn't added
a 64-Bit starter in the distribution, but I can send you one.

In fact is it possible to have both 32bit AND 64bit java installed at the
same time and just
pick which version to use?
Yes. Using the complete path should simply select the correct version.
I have on my PC several version of Java and they don't distturb
themselves.

The other thing is that one of your installers incorporates java.
Does this mean that it installs java as well as BGBltitz (making it a
simpler option
for people who don't already have java) or is the java functionality
EMBEDDED
within the program and totally independant of any java JRE already
installed?
The later is the case. Many people are not aware that they need Java
too and it is more comfortably for them. Further the Java server-VM is
not part of the normal Java-JRE download. Because BGBlitz is twice as
fast with the server VM, I setup a normal JRE and added the server VM.
The version I distribute isn't found in the registry etc. and don't
disturbs anything and I can rely on the fastest possible execution.

(This could be important because you mention a speed increase under Vista)

I have Snowie, GnuBG, BgBlitz and Jellyfish.
Also use Gamesgrid and PartyGammon (maybe Gammon Empire?)

Anyone running x64 with any of the above?
OK? Problems?

I can only speak for BGBlitz. I've tried it and it seems to work. The
only flaw is: it seems to have a problem with saving the settings (I
just say cancel or allow...) but I'm not sure about that and in any
case I changed that for the next release.
