post here i read that you can hook up these programs to play for
you.. I am honestly not looking to cheat, ihave not got any of these

so can someone confirm this... can these programs be used as automated

I'm not aware of any particular interface that allows the user to simply
hook up the robot to their computer and let it make all the plays completely
hands off while playing at a particular server. It clearly is do-able and
at FIBS, at least, such interfaces are common, (but the bots that play there
are clearly identified as bots).

The real problem is players either 1) spot checking difficult plays and
cubes with a robot before making their move, and 2) using the robot (by
using two windows or two computers) to match the robot move for move through
the entire game. With one particular bot, this is really quite simple and
takes very little extra clicking, etc. However, cheat #2 will show up
pretty clearly if the opponent analyzes his own matches.

As to the scale of this kind of cheating, there isn't any hard data to
really know. Many of the servers have banned players if they find they are
matching a robot's plays way beyond what would normally be possible with an
expert player. TMG has a good system to watch for this kind of cheat,
though the exact way they use it is not necessarily ideal.
