From the looks of it, this appears to have been a well planned heist.
The robbers (obviously) cased the venue in advance and determined that
security could be easily overwhelmed with a quick and coordinated
strike. Just like a well planned military operation, it looks like
the robbers had the element of surprise in their favor and the hotel's
security staff was caught flat footed. (I wonder if a Chief of
Security will soon be joining the army of the unemployed?)

I doubt if something this brazen could be pulled off at the WSOP.
I've seen video of the final table when it gets down to heads up and
about six or eight armed security guards bring the money (in boxes) to
the table. The chaps carrying the money are surrounded by shotgun
toting guards who make it clear to all the bystanders "OK, don't
anybody try anything stupid here ..."

I'm curious: What does 800,000 euros equal in U.S. dollars? About a
$1,000,000.00 maybe?
