Uncle Al!

Okay so you're Elasticus.

Huh? I haven't taken any position on the eleaticus/Uncle Al debate.

I never said you did, retard.

I have found the thread on sci.physics where eleaticus presented his
ideas and was apparently bitchslapped pretty badly by Uncle Al and
shouted down by pretty much everyone. I

I've lurked in sci.physics for more years than you've been shitting on
rec.gambling, poker as ramashiva. A back story is completely unnecessary.
Your evaluation of cranks on sci.physics is equally inappropriate, because
you are in no position to evaluate the physical merit of a theory.

haven't had time to dig into
the thread and figure out exactly what the argument is about, It seems
to be primarily a mathematical argument, and I am quite sure I am
sufficiently mathematically sophisticated to follow the argument.

No *** sherlock. Contradictions in special relativity imply
contradictions in basic arithmetic operations. Surely you've seen Uncle Al
drop that line? I've read him write it about 100 times already.

It's just that eleaticus' notation is extremely confusing, and his
prose is notoriously incomprehensible.

And contrary to experimental evidence, and mathematically unsound.

If I had to make a call right now, I would give the nod to Uncle Al, I
just find it extremely unlikely that a theory accepted by most
physicists for 100 years and verified numerous times by empirical
observations is fundamentally flawed by mathematical error.

You're so retarded. What theory did special relativity supersede?
Newtonian mechanics had been "accepted" by physicists for hundreds of
years, and even the atypical phenomena that was observed and physical
contradictions that were discovered nowhere implied to anyone a massive
overhaul of Newtonian mechanics was in store, until Einstein (and Lorentz)
published their work.

The statement above shows a serious deficiency in ability to reason
scientifically. Further evidence that you are in no position to judge
either eleasticus or Al.

Also,
pretty much everyone on sci.physics seems to think eleaticus is full
of *** and does not know what he is talking about.

Which means nothing, of course.

You learn something every day.

You ever read up on his Eotvos experiment?

Nope. Never heard of Uncle Al until Clave introduced him to the
newsgroup.

Here is an Eotvos link for those interested --

Thanks for posting it for us retarded dweebs. I'm sure no one on here is
capable of using Google.

<snip>

You understand even one word of that? I sure as *** don't. I don't
question Uncle Al's brilliance and erudition.

I studied physics and mathematics in college. I don't pretend to be
extremely knowledgeable about the Eotvos experiment as it is very much
beyond my level of understanding. Pretending that I was capable of
evaluating the veracity of a theory - especially when experimental
confirmation is pending - is something that, well, someone like you would
do.
