With budget deficits soaring and President Obama pushing a
trillion-dollar-plus expansion of health coverage, some Washington
policymakers are taking a fresh look at a money-making idea long
considered politically taboo: a national sales tax.

Common around the world, including in Europe, such a tax -- called a
value-added tax, or VAT -- has not been seriously considered in the
United States. But advocates say few other options can generate the
kind of money the nation will need to avert fiscal calamity.

Is it too early to claim that we are now seeing the "other shoe" drop?

This little trial balloon going up so soon after PBO declared that
Federal deficits couldn't keep rising year after year?

Some people were quite perplexed as to why he suddenly discovered that
his spending proposals would send the Federal deficits soaring like an
eagle.

Maybe softening us Rubes up for the next big round of tax increases?

My Spidey Sense tells me that this is exactly what is happening.

Obama has run up massive spending deficits. He is raising taxes on businesses, corporations and large private investors. He is fucking over the private sector. He has blocked drilling for American oil. He has gone back on his campaign promise of a middle class tax cut. He has gone back on his campaign promise to eliminate ear-mark spending. We have lost 1,800,000 private sector jobs since Obama took office. We are losing hundreds of thousands more private sector jobs each month. National unemployment is at 10%. Obama's cap and tax energy plan will make American businesses less competitive and drive even more private sector jobs over seas. He just passed a $3.6 trillion spending budget, which is the biggest in Amreican history. His spending will result in a $10 trillion dollar plus deficit, which is the largest in American history and dwarfs the money spend on all of the wars in American history, including the Iraq war. And he and the Democrat controlled congress and senate, and the repeart tax cheat Obama picked to head the IRS, have not even begun to spend the trillions more he will spend to nationalize healthcare. Not to mention that fact that millions of illegals are still flooding in to this country and 40% of Americans currently pay zero income tax. Who the *** do people think is going to get stuck with the bill for all this welfare, entitlement and give away spending? Hint - the answer is (big fucking surprise) middle class, working, tax paying Americans. For Obama to suddendly start lecturing the American people about controlling deficit spending is a sick joke. Obama is like the alcoholic father who has spent every thing the family has, run them in to hopeless debt, then tells the kids they need to spend less money for milk.
