Anyone reading this message will know instantly that I am replying to mo_charles. That, in general, is helpful to other newsgroup readers. One advantage is that any reader will know instantly that all lines in the message that begin with a single ">" were written by mo_charles. If you had followed this simple etiquette when you replied to me, the second line of this message would have said something like: "> Patrick Karl wrote:", and anyone now reading this message would know that all lines in this message beginning with ">>" were written by me. It is considered a "nice" thing to do to include that information at the beginning of a reply. (A big drawback for you is that everyone would know from the 3rd line of this message that you were the ahole who wrote "*** YOU" (which, I must admit, is brilliant. What grade are you in?). So maybe you'd be better off to not comply with this simple usenet etiquette request.
