Life in $3/$6

I don't go to a casino to play poker very often, but the wife was out of
town and I decided to give it a shot.

I arrived in Vicksburg Ms around 4:30 yesterday afternoon and settled into
the $3/6 LHE, no foldem. Honestly, the were 8 people seeing the flop many
hands. After about 30 mins I had not won a hand and picked up a pocket
pair that made a FH and I won a nice pot. Another 10 minutes and the
another pocket pair that made a FH. Yeah, this was going to be juicy as I
am now up $100. Fast forward 7 hours. I won two more pots in 7 hours and
played probably 7 or 8 more to show down where I lead all the way to the
river and got run down. I even flopped a set with AA and got beat by 3 6
of hearts when the board made a 3 flush.

I left at 11:30 stuck $260. It was an amazing experience to be the only
person at the table that understands anything about your chances calling
to the river with J 7 off on an A K 2 flop and the raiser is betting at
you. Then they end up backing into a straight against your two pair A's
and K's. I won 4 hands in 7 hours.

One exciting thing that happen was that the bad beat jackpot was won on
another table.

$74,000. Quad 4's lost t a straight flush. I don't know how the payout
is structured, but there was a girl who had been at my table for maybe 3
hands and got up and moved to the eventually jackpot table. She didn't
have either hand, but got a participants share of $3700. With that kind
of luck she should go to a casino.

I bet it took them 2 hours to get them paid and the game never resumed
before I left.
