Maybe this will help Paul.

Assume I own over 90% of the material assets (including money) in a
village. The people of this village no longer have the rights to fish
from the streams, hunt the wildlife, or grow crops because they own no
land. My friends and I created laws of property rights to the natural
land that would persecute people who tried to take from what was not
"theirs".

Now, in order for these villagers to live, they need to work for me in
order to earn money so that they can exchange it for food and goods.
The more money I give these people, the more opportunity they will
have to purchase things, and possibly accumulate their own wealth. If
they do that, my share (or my power) in this village will decrease.

It's fun to have power over others. You need to learn some things
about human nature, and what the STARTING position was for the
employer not only in the USA, but in other countries.

I hope you open your mind for a minute and give this some thought.

Oh, oh, oh, oh,..... Paul, let me field this one...ok?

I can whip up a story where I own over 90% of the material assets (including
money) in a village along with the only company that all the other villagers
work at.  I decide, because the villagers want to unionize, that the
aggravation is more than what it's worth, so I turn over the company that
they all work at divided equally among all of the people of the village.
Because none of them have the knowledge, the ambition nor the incentive to
become wealthy from the business, they just run the company and the village
into the ground and they stand around street corners and the village square
with nothing and no hope of getting another business to come to the village
because other wealthy investors know the villagers will attempt to do the
same to them.  I then take my remaining wealth and start short selling US
dollars against the other world currencies because the current leaders and
potential future leaders of our country are running America the way those
villagers ran the company.  At least I won't have to deal with ignorant,
bitching employees.

I think my fairy tale scenario is closer to reality than yours.
