Saddam Hussein was an "Islamofascist"...?

That's news to me.

Some of the early reports on the life and times of Saddam was that he
was a big fan of one Joseph Stalin.
Not exactly Fascist, but close enough to describe him as a murderous
Tyrant and thug..

To the extent that the Baaths were influenced by German philosphers and
facist ideology, the term actually fits these guys. It is more appropriate
to call it a pan-Arab facism But most idle claims of "Islamofascism" are
directed at the current crop of religious folks; there is very little or
nothing that identifies these people as "fascists" except we are supposed to
hate them as much as Nazis. So the term as used is propaganda.

While I can't speak for everyone, I think that most people realize
that the majority of the Muslims throughout the world only want to
live in peace.

Nevertheless, there are a whole lot of Muslim clerics all over the
world that preach Jihadism to their followers.

I try to reserve my use of the term to those clerics and those who
follow them.
Anyone paying attention to the periodic demonstrations in Pakistan for
example knows exactly what I mean.

Hell, just look at almost any Anti-War demonstration in the US, and
you can find a lot of them sprinkled throughout the crowd.

It is quite difficult to find any Muslim willing to speak out against
them.

People can speak out against most any other religion without fear of
reprisal, but Muslims in most parts of the world run the distinct risk
of getting their heads chopped off.

The term "silent majority" is highly appropriate.
