Oh, they'll be getting that soon enough. But it's not like it will make a
difference. As far as I know there are no plans (or even capabilities?)
to keep that oil for US consumption. It will enter the global market just
like everything else, where it will probably just be shipped overseas
anyway, and it won't put a dent into the market price of oil.

They could, I suppose, be stressing the urgency of the situation and
dumping money into research for alternatives whenever they can, and fast.
But, they're not going to do that. It's an election year, ya know?
They're just going to try to bribe us into believe everything is okay and
let the real *** hit the fan next year. (see tax rebates, gas tax
holiday)
