Poker room.

I get weary of people bashing other people for no other purpose that
to make themselves feel important. From what I read there are a
couple people who have an issue with Todd in the poker room and his
ability to do his job their liking. I have to ask how anyone shows
the fortitude to criticize someone so openly yet lacks the courage to
do it face to face. There might be some light cast on this very
subject by “Doggystyle”. His or her pseudonym, in itself, tells me
that they have an aversion in being face to face with anyone under any
circumstances. Perhaps professional help might be of benefit in
unlocking whatever they have inside that prevents personal growth and
an ability to mature.

Now that this is settled, Doggy, let’s you and I move on to Todd.
According to your post Todd is, “a condescending, arrogant, horribly
inept ***!!” Wow. This ability to know and judge people as you
do must be a heavy burden for you to carry. I can only imagine how
difficult it is for you to be around people that have opinions about
you what with your having to smile knowing their true thoughts and
motivations.

I am a semi-regular player at this poker room and have to respect any
floor person. But, since you have seen fit to target Todd let’s stay
with him. I will admit that Todd sometimes comes off as harsh and
unfeeling. But if you look at the whole picture he treats everyone in
the same way in order to run and keep control of the room. There is a
lot of money on any given table at any given moment and tempers can
run high in very short order. Control is a must or things get out of
hand very quickly. I’ve had the very unpleasant experience of being
in a poker room when a situation reached critical mass and a fight
involving several people broke out. Let’s just say that it took hours
to sort things out with regard to who was actually involved and to
approximate chip counts. This was a situation that was escalating
over a period of time yet the floor manager just let things ride. To
me, this is the definition of a horribly inept ***.

One has to wonder how you might react to the three-hundreth person
that walked up to your desk and asked you the same stupid question.
Questions like, what kind of poker do you play here? Are you going to
open another table soon? There are a thousand other questions that
are asked by the novice or the drunk or the internet player that
spends his time in a windowless room wondering why he doesn’t have any
live friends. You too might come off as arrogant and condescending
when you dish out the one word answers that Todd is famous for.

Apparently you are unaware that it was Todd that lobbied for
tournaments, bounty tournaments, cash giveaways, motorcycle giveaways,
deep stack tournaments, Heartland Poker League and even the bad beat.
Consider this, Doggy, Todd is responsible for all of these promotions,
in whole or in part, because he understands his fiscal responsibility
to the casino and knows how to balance that with the pleasure of the
players. This horribly inept *** knows more about running a poker
room than everyone else at Oneida combined. Until proven otherwise, I
want to believe that Todd has put the player first in an effort to
maximize profit for the casino. This being done without picking the
pockets of the player and still keeping control of a room full of
ungrateful whinning assholes lik yourself.

The sad truth about the Oneida poker room is that it is the higher
management is lacking. They should be training their floor people
more completely and monitoring their performance. There is to little
consistency in how their floor people handle situations. Todd, at
least, is consistent in the way he runs that room. I’ve witnessed the
same floor person make two different decisions concerning similar
situations depending on whether it was one of their pet players
involved or not. My guess is that you have been on the losing end of
a decision made by Todd or he has confronted you about your conduct at
the table. If either is the case I can only say, “*** you, Doggy.”
Either live with it or use the most powerful tool you have as a player
or patron. Simply leave the room and refuse to return. There are
plenty of choices available to you. Within two hours driving distance
of Green Bay there are at least five other poker rooms not to mention
the bar and home games. I suggest that you use your power as a
customer and take your business somewhere else unless, that is, you
have worn out your welcome at those places too.

May I further say that I don’t like being at a table with an ***,
a cheat or anyone who lacks the ability to appreciate the game and
follow table protocol. Unfortunately for me I am sure that I have
probably had to sit at a table with you.

Give some thought to making constructive suggestions rather than
destructive personal attacks on someone who has a job you know nothing
about.

Finally, I am not related to Todd, have never been to his home, never
socialized with him and only know him for what he is in the poker
room. I appreciate his efforts and recognize his abilities to do a
job well and fair to the players.
