After filtering out the usual Maverick charm, there's a real point
there. It is really _startling_ how often some gay people bring up
their orientation when the subject hasn't even come close to being
mentioned and isn't relevant to what IS being discussed. I remember a
bridge teammate of mine who was Black, he's passed away now, saying
about one of his partner's bids "As a Black man, I think that was an
overbid." But HE was joking. Some people, gay people or people of
various minorities, cannot discuss ANYTHING without bringing up their
minority or underpriveligeds status.
