In principle I agree. It is very rare that situation even comes up, and when it does, the betting or pot size makes the question not matter.

But there are those times, and in the last 3 sessions it seemed to come up twice, where it seemed like it did matter, and I didn't want to spend a bunch of time at the table working it out.

So, I have been trying to come up with the rule of thumb for when it comes up again. And it seems to be specifically straight flushes where it comes up enough to even make a difference at all, and even if the answer is you can safely ignore it, that works for me to. But I am not quite there yet.
