Ok, Well for what it's worth to the naysayers, it appears to me that Mark
Sief addresses the issues regarding "AP" , in an interview at
http://www.rawvegas.tv/.com
It might not be enough for most of you, but he did just as I suggested that he
probably would. He addressed the issues. Not sure how much of this
responsibility actually falls onto him, nor am I sure how much he should be
expected to address? I know most will say it's not enough, and that's your
opinion. The only thing I ever said was that based on my knowledge of Mark
(based on several tournament and live hours around him), he was an honest,
stand-up guy, and would in my opinion address the issues at hand. I never said
he was my best friend, or that it's even his responsibility to speak on the
matter. That's a decision for his "sponsors". I only said that my opinion of
Mark was that he was honest, and would almost CERTAINLY address any issues at
hand, ESPECIALLY those regarding him specifically.
I'm not saying anything as to actually what happened, as I wouldn't know. I
said Mark would probably defend himself against any accusations, and would
probably be very diligent about it. I'm sure for some of you it took too long,
but that's not in my hands, nor is it what I said would happen. I'm sure it will
be more steam for a few of you, but you'll go it alone the next time. Good luck.
The problem with associating yourself with slime, and being their visible
spokesperson, as Seif has with Absolute Poker, is that even if you do turn
out to be honest, you've shown a serious lack of judgment. I'm not sure
how seriously I take this story about Seif pulling out the superuser account
when he got stuck in a game. Apparently, the guy who is the subject of the
story later said it hadn't happened, and there's not so much as a single
hand history associated with the story.
But you have a story, secondhand although it is, and it involves what people
speculated was a superuser account of some kind, long before anyone had
a clue there actually was such a thing on AP. I'm willing to write that off
as coincidence in the absence of any more stories. It seems if Seif had cheated
once, he'd have cheated other times, too, and the only story about it is one
secondhand story. Nobody else has been flushed out of the woodwork with
their own stories.
But still, he's going to be tarred forever with this Absolute association.
And all these other pros are associated with online sites in some way, shape, or
form. You'd think people would think twice from now on about what they
endorse with their name.
