Re: One player to a hand WSOP observation

So are you arguing against the one player to a hand rule?

Sort of. I'm against the reasoning usually used to justify it. I don't
frankly care if my opponent's hand is being played via live vote on the
internet as long as they're prompt about it and the people doing the
voting have no more access to info about the hand than the player in the
chair does. Beyond that, my concern is that play moves quickly. In
practice that makes "one player to a hand" an acceptable rule, but I'm not
in the least concerned that my opponents will make better decisions as a
team. Committees are good at scheduling meetings and little else.

I pointed
out how Jamie Gold repeatedly violated the rule against revealing his
hand, but in a headsup pot, I personally see nothing wrong with it, it
should be up to his opponent to decide if he's telling the truth or
not. With the rule as written, he was basically angle shooting
because it's against the rules to reveal your hand verbally while the
hand is in progress, so his opponents had to assume he was lying even
though he was telling the truth most of the time.

That's just another case of the nits hijacking the rules. Everyone should
be free to say whatever the hell they want about their hand during play,
including revealing their hole cards exactly if they so desire. Why
anyone would choose to do so is beyond me, but I guess some people don't
like money.
