Personally, I think it was planned.
("Want Reparations? I got your Reparations right here, Pal.")
What did Germany have left?
They had their technology and their factories, and the people who knew
how to operate them.
Facilities that were available for pennies on the dollar.
Now consider the Harrimans, the Bushes, the Rockefellers, the
Kennedys, et al.
Their political positions spanned the entire political spectrum.
Let us not get hung up on the Demo-Repo thing.
The one big thing they had in common was that they had big money and
they wanted to make more.
No need to posit VRWC or VLWC's: Just follow Count de Monet.
Remember that Hitler was not always HITLER!!
In the beginning, it was only people like Winston Churchill who had
the foresight to realize that Adolph meant exactly what he had written
earlier.
It wasn't after it was too late to stop him that the European
politicians were dragged, kicking and screaming, to the same
conclusion.
You lost me here FL, I wasn't making a political point about Germany in WWII, I
was referring to the fact that Prescott Bush's firm , Brown Brothers Harriman,
was dealing with and making profits from German companies while Americans
soldiers were dying in North Africa to the extent that the firm was sanctioned
by Congress under the trading with the enemy act.
You choose to focus on one particular Big Money entity, namely the
Bush family.
I was trying to make the point that investment in German industry was
not limited to any particular political ideology, it was simply Big
Money seeing an investment opportunity and taking advantage of it.
You included some very good advice in your earlier post.

Surely there are plenty of obscure air fields all over the country. Now Clinton is in the White House and is in a position to blow the lid off

Ah, yes.
Mena airport.
I remember those stories.
Whitewater, Vince Foster, Ron Brown, dead Arkansas highway troopers,Arkancide, cattle futures, FBI records, and I am no doubt missing a
whole lot more.
No doubt we will be reminded when Hillary! gets the nomination and
starts her run for the Presidency in earnest.
She has a lot of political baggage to carry along with her.
But I digress.
I remember the Ken Starr investigations.
They went on and on and on.
The VRWC was promising that any day now, Real Soon now, that Starr
would complete his investigations.
He was going to "blow the lid off" the whole thing when the results of
the investigation were made public.
Riiiight.
I have one question.
What did the Clintons do with the money?
Certainly there are expenses involved with drug running, but you'd
expect them to have a big pile of money.
AFAIK, the conventional wisdom is that the Clintons didn't have any
money until after his presidency when they cashed in on the book
deals, the speaking fees, yadda yadda.
I can understand Big Money going into partnership with other Big
Money.
I can understand Big Money going into partnership with the Politically
powerful.
But then, why would any Big Money go into a partnership with an
obscure Arkansas Governor?
Just remember that back in the 80s, Clinton was a big nothing on the
national scene.
I think that the first time he was even noticed was when he gave some
long winded speech at a political convention.
"Who in the Hell was that guy, anyway?"
I think at the time they were more interested in an obscure Arkansas airfield.
Later they became interested in Clinton for the same reason the power elite was
interested in Nixon. Both Nixon and Clinton were poor, exceptionally smart,
crafty ambitious guys who knew how to win elections. Who better to have as your
front man in the white house?
Why stick to any one particular obscure air field?
Sorry, I can't see it.
Somehow, I can't imagine Clinton as a "front man" for the Bush family.
The only way I could see that is by assuming a Conspiracy first, and
then going on from there.
Conspiracy Theories are easy.
You can assume as few or as many people who are "in on it" as is
necessary to make it work.
Oh and by the way, how do we know about the drug trafficking part? TestimonyDid you ever stop to consider that maybe, just maybe that Kerry wasn't
of
several of the pilots before a congressional investigation led by none other
than that flaming liberal John Kerry. Surely Kerry would blow the whistle on
this for partisan gain, right? In a word, no. Kerry does nothing, accusing
the
Reagan administration of "turning a blind eye toward drug trafficking
(!!)"
Of course it didn't hurt that Kerry and Bush are distant relatives, and more
importantly, both Skull and Bones members. But i digress.
blowing any whistles for the simple reason that there was no There
there?
Familiarize yourself with the testimony. A good source is "Cocaine Politics" by
Peter Dale Scott.
I will take a look at the story.
It was the first time in history?
There is only one word I have to say about the Conspiracy Theories
regarding the Skull and Bones.
Pffffft.
Now we come to the present. Until recently when a tsunami of support forA "tsunami"?
getting out of Iraq developed, who was one of the staunchest supporters of
staying the course in Iraq?. Hillary. Now she's saying the right things to
get
elected. But if the war is still the most important issue in the election
and
she does get elected, the Bush family and their interests can rest easy
knowing
they have a friend in the White House. And just like the last Clinton
administration, the prior Bush administration will be safe from any
investigative scrutiny.
What tsunami?
Where?
The democrats won every seat that was up for grabs giving them a majority,
albeit slim, in both houses of congress. For the first time in history, a
national issue trumped local issues in congressional elections. If you don't
think the country wants out of Iraq, you're listening to too much talk radio/fox
"news".
I don't know enough about the history of national elections to debate
the point, but I don't believe it was a first.
Of course, the public does want us out of Iraq.
I want us out of Iraq.
Hillary wants us out of Iraq.
The only question is exactly how and when.
The general public most definitely does not follow the "Get out Now!!
" Crowd.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Did you ever stop to consider that maybe, just maybe that tsunami only
exists amongst Lefties who only talk to each other?
Yes, I have noticed Hillary! carefully dancing away from the Left.
Doesn't saying the right things to get elected mean that she knows
what the average voter in the Reality Based world thinks?
Whatever else she is, she is a very smart lady with very smart
advisors.
Did you ever stop to consider that the Demo politicians only wanted to
keep the faithful all geeked up for the 06 elections?
I started this thread. Read the first post.
I've run out of time this morning so I will have to stop right here.
Stay tuned for further blathering, blithering and bloviating by me on
this topic later on.
