We used to eat while so attired but I wouldn't have called it dining.
The people who took up pre-modern cooking as part of their Society
persona did a really good job for the most part. However, eating
standing up in armor made of coathanger wire over a refrigerator
shipping pad did make for an uncomfortable lunch. We enjoyed it
anyway. Talked shop mostly, how hard you had to hit some guys to make
them admit they had been hit, that sort of thing.

This imaginary bar where the patrons could hit each other with two by
fours would not do any business. Anyone who did go there would be
accepting the situation.

The problem is, you can't REQUIRE people to risk harm to eat in a restraunt.

You can, for instance, subject them to (yech!) country music.
You cannot subject them to any music at a db rating that would be very
likely to destroy their eardrums.
