Smoking in public - I quit

I hereby officially withdraw from this "smoking in public" thread. Like
most non-smoking poker players, I endured stinking second hand smoke, from
inconsiderate jerks, for years. I wrote letters and called politicians and
poker room managers but made no progress and it really started to seem like
a lost cause. Then slowly the tide began to turn and one-by-one poker rooms
started going non-smoking. Then states, including mine, began following
California's lead and started passing smoking bans in public places. Now,
thank God, every major poker room in the country is non-smoking. The war is
over, smoking bans are the law and it ain't gonna change. Smokers have
three choices. First, do the intelligent thing and quit. Do your heart,
your lungs, your family and your wallet a huge favor and just quit that
filthy, stinking habit. Stop sucking those cancer causing toxins into your
lungs. Second, accept the law, stop bitching and only smoke in designated
areas. Third, fight the law, keep bitching, keep smoking and waste your
time and energy whining about how the government took away all your freedom.
Personally, I hope you decide to quit. I really do. But if you don't, well
that's your choice and the results will be a totally self-inflicted wound.
In any case, all I really care about is not breathing second hand smoke and
not wasting any more time on a battle that has already been fought and won.
Good luck.
