We don't have cats, but we have 4 dogs. Three of them sleep on the bed
with us. We've been feeding them leftovers and canned human food while
all this *** is going on.

I don't think you're taste sampler trick will work. First of all, it's
not like they keel over and die on the spot. Secondly, you have a lot
more weight than they do.
