Let's see how much run this gets in the Times and on CNN.
It will be interesting to see. As Webb is a Democrat but not anti-gun
it will be tough for the usual suspects to get very much leverage on
the story. An anti-gun type would generate lots of hypocracy
accusations, with justice. A Republican would just catch hell of
general principles. A pro-gun permit-holding Democrat is practically
immune from either side.

"After reviewing and analyzing all of the evidence in the case, we do not
believe the essential elements of the crime of carrying a pistol without a
license can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt," said Jeffrey Taylor, the
U.S. attorney for Washington.
Hmmmm. He was caught entering a U.S. Senate office building with a
loaded, concealed pistol that he wasn't licensed to carry, along with 2
extra full magazines of ammunition, and the U.S. attorney can't find the
essential elements of the crime of carrying a pistol without a license?
Damn. If we only had more gun-control laws I'm sure the attorney would be
able to find one that applies in this tricky situation.
